Description

As our professional communities move towards embracing ideas like multi-culturalism, antiracism, social justice, decolonization, and equity as core competencies of our professions, some Torah observant therapists have expressed concern about how these values are presented and whether these changes have created a hostile environment for Orthodox Jews.

Participants will discuss topics such as racism's impact on health outcomes, Tzedek Tirdoph's significance in social justice, and Tzelem Elokim's role in addressing racism. The workshop will also cover practical steps for increasing cultural competence and understanding the clinical relevance of equity, privilege, and implicit bias. Through instruction, engaged participation, and facilitated discussion participants will explore the ways that they can engage with these developments consistent with Torah values.
